Kai Howlers Pack

The atmosphere in the Kai Howlers Pack was radiant as tonight was their Alpha's 27th birthday. Omegas moved around hurriedly as they decorated the tables most exquisitely.

Being the largest Pack in Canada, they anticipated a lot of high-ranking members from all the packs around the world to attend tonight's party.

"Hey, do you think our Alpha will find his Luna tonight?" One of the Omegas asked as she arranged orchids in the vessel.

"You should focus on preparations. You don't want Beta Alex to hear you talking about Alpha's business." another warned.

In the Kai Howlers Pack, omegas and slaves who were brought from the human city weren't allowed to be close to the royal pack members. Even talking about the pack's royal members wasn't acceptable.

It was a restriction that came with intense punishment if defied.

Beta and Gamma helped their Alpha with leading the pack while omegas stayed a few miles away from the pack house.

If there was an event in the pack house, omegas could come around and handle the tasks before any royal member woke up. They are low-ranking members of the entire pack and that explains why the royal family didn't want them any closer.

Others were the slaves captured from the human city earlier when Alpha Bruce Kai was the one on the reign. Among the slaves he brought, some had children and those children were now grown up.

Some had lost their parents and took their parents' positions to serve in the Kai Howlers Pack.

Tonight, everyone took a different role as they had to accomplish everything before dawn.

There were many tables and each was decorated with orchids. Alpha Armstrong's favorite. As it closed to dawn, omegas and human servants retired to their apartment just after the neighboring forest.

On the second floor of the pack house, a tall silhouette walked over to the window and pushed sideways the white window curtains.

He took a view of the backyard where his birthday party would be held later tonight. If he had a choice, he wouldn't attend this boring stuff. For a moment, he wished he wasn't Alpha.

Sure, being the Alpha of the largest Pack in Canada came with different responsibilities. The most enjoyable one was moving around the world to learn new things in different aspects.

The worst part of it all, as he saw it, was days like today. He didn't want to be surrounded by people who mean no good. He knew that Alphas from other packs always wanted to challenge him.

They thought of him as someone incapable and he had no intention to challenge them. He knew that he was worthy and could do anything for his pack including finding a suitable Luna for the Kai Howlers Pack.

His thoughts trailed to the imagination as he saw himself standing amidst the crowd, on the dancing floor. He could have found his mate before the dancing part comes in.

He could hold onto her tender waist for dear life and inhale her addictive scent of orchids then, they could quietly ditch the party and with lips never parting, he could walk and only pause in front of the door of his bedroom on the second floor of the pack house.

Then he could gradually kick the door not to scare her away.

Finally, he could worship and cherish her body in every possible way. How long would it take before they step out of their bedroom? This he didn't know.

He was certain that Beta Alex would take care of the pressing pack matters till he finds some control.

'Alpha Armstrong, the guests from the Red river Pack will be here in a moment. Probably forty minutes and as you know, they receive hospitality when you are among the ones to welcome them.' Beta Alex's voice in the mind link brought him back to reality.

Sh*t! He had gone too far in imagination.

'Alright. Make sure everyone has a pleasant stay throughout tonight.' Alpha mind-linked Beta Alex.

He hoped to locate his mate among tonight's guests and he didn't want his mate to have an unpleasant time or he could never forgive himself.

He slowly turned toward the exit of his bedroom and headed for the dining room downstairs. Breakfast was already served and all the pack house members took their respective seats.

There was Beta Alex, Gamma Benson, and his mate Cara on the right side, then there was Sophia

Alpha Armstrong's seat on the head of the table.

"Alpha" everyone on the table acknowledged in unison as Armstrong headed for his seat.

There were different dishes on the table but he went for steak. There was a great day ahead and he needed a big meal to go through it. He would need to meet Alphas and elders who delude to educate him. He needed the vigor to face them politely.

It was soon evening and guests were filling the backyard of the Kai Howlers. As every royal pack member stood at the entrance to welcome guests, Alpha Armstrong's nostrils attempted to detect the scents around him.

Being a werewolf, his sense of smell was sharp, and being an Alpha, his senses were sharper than anybody.

But despite his sharper sense of smell, he didn't find any addictive scent as he anticipated. He had been sleeping around for years and now he felt that it was all nothing. He saw a few people recognizing their mates and he wished to end all this madness and find the only one for him.

When the guests settled in, Alpha Armstrong went back to welcome them in officially. He was disappointed for not finding his mate but he wouldn't stop looking for her.

"It's a pleasure to have you here in the Kai Howlers Pack. As the host of tonight's event, I appreciate each and everyone's presence. Thank you!"

"As the Alpha of Kai Howlers Pack, I will ask for one present from everyone. If our packs are......" Alpha Armstrong's words moved back in his throat as his eyes locked on a particular stance among the guests.

His nostrils flared as he inhaled the scent of orchids. The scent was stronger than the flowers in the backyard and it was addictive.

'MATE' the firm voice on the back of his mind confirmed his suspicion. His legs moved on their own as he approached the guests in hasty moves.

A man? Why were his eyes locked with another man's eyes? His mate was a man? But why was he retracting?
